OUR SERVICE

Using our extensive knowledge of Dumfries and Galloway in south west Scotland we provide  cycling holiday or breaks from from our menu of tours or designed  to suit your individual requirements.

Tours can begin on any day of the week (except guided tours) and last as long as you wish (2 days minimum). Bed and breakfast accommodation in hostels, bed and breakfast private homes, guest houses or hotels is included in the cost.

We meet our customers on arrival to go over the tour and provide tour a tour information pack. We also provide a cycle hire service - if required, and also a luggage transfer service - again if required. We are flexible to accommodate arrival and departure transport timetables.

Our aim is to provide an responsive and personalised service to ensure you a have a pleasant peaceful holiday in our beautiful countryside.

IN DEPTH INFORMATION

We have excellent local knowledge of Dumfries and Galloway area with lots of contacts and friends who help us to keep up to date with what is going on, including local activities which may be of interest to our cyclists. Your tour package on arrival will provide you with an extensive cycling route itinerary and information.

Each of our specially chosen cycling routes make best use of the quieter local roads and tracks and allow you to experience the best parts of this area. In addition to route information we will provide you with tourist attraction leaflets and details of places of interest to visit on your chosen route.

 
CAREFULLY SOURCED ACCOMMODATION

Like many others, you are welcome to come to our area for a cycling holiday, choose your routes and arrange your own accommodation. If you use our service, the accommodation on your cycling holiday is specially selected to ensure the highest quality and friendliness.

Most of our accommodation places are in small towns or villages where other services are available. We are aware that a hearty breakfast is often a high priority for cyclists as well as the ability to obtain a packed lunch if required. All accommodation will have suitable cycle storage and drying facilities.

Where possible we use premises that are part of the the VisitScotland "Cyclists Welcome" scheme, as long as they also come up to our other standards of excellence.

 
 

Our four most frequently used categories of accommodation are HOSTELS, BED and BREAKFAST/GUEST HOUSE; SMALL HOTEL and QUALITY HOTEL. Each have a different price bracket - see TOUR COSTS. The accommodation provided is bed and breakfast only and are priced per person assuming two people are sharing a twin or double room. There may be an extra charge for single room occupancy, depending on the accommodation used.

Evening meals are available near to your overnight stop locations in a wide range of restaurants, pubs or hotels.

 
LUGGAGE TRANSFER
We offer a luggage transfer service on our tours . Your luggage will await you on arrival at your destination each day. We ask that it is left for us to uplift by 9.30am each morning on luggage transfer days.
 
 
CYCLE HIRE
We provide good quality Claud Butler and Peugeot hybrid cycles. Our adult cycles have 21 gears and are supplied complete with helmet, tool kit, pump, cycle lock and cycle computer. Most importantly our cycles are fitted with soft gel seats for added comfort, particularly welcomed by the novice cyclist!
Castle Douglas Cycle Centre is a well appointed local cycle shop in our base town. We also liaise with several other cycle shops in the region who are available to assist with repairs with tours which pass through their area. 
 
CYCLING HOLIDAY ROUTE INFORMATION

Following booking we send you outline information about your tour which includes details of your accommodation place(s) and cycling route itinerary.

On arrival at our base in Castle Douglas, and after settling into youir accommodation we hold a welcome meeting when you will receive the tour pack which includes daily route direction information with map, full itinerary including visitor attraction leaflets.

Access
We are conveniently centred by the A75 Carlisle to Stranraer Road, and only a couple hours drive from Scotland's Central Belt, the North of England and the Belfast to Stranraer Ferries. Pickups can easily be arranged from Dumfries Railway Station.  Prestwick, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Carlisle and Newcastle Airports are approximately 2 hours or less away.
